Directions to parking site:
From Toronto, take Hwy 401 E towards Kingston.
Take exit 410 to Brock Street S.
Continue on Brock Street S to Baldwin Street S/Hwy 12 N.
Keep left to continue on Baldwin Street S/Hwy 12 N.
Turn right on Reach Street.

All participants must park at the Emmanuel Church. Shuttle buses will be provided from the church to the festival site from 6:30am-5:000pm. All vehicles illegally parked will be tagged/towed at the Townships direction.


Mixed Division - $900.00 +HST

Women’s Division - $900.00 +HST

BCS Division - $900.00 +HST

University/Youth Division - $900.00 +HST

All divisions have an early-bird price of $875.00 +HST if registered prior to March 15th.

Brand new for 2019, Port Perry will now have a “Seniors” final! Teams with athletes who are 50+ may choose to participate in this final, with a chance to win the “Seniors Cup”!

All teams have the opportunity to book 2 practice sessions. Dates available are: June 4th, 5th, 6th, June 11th, 12th, 13th. Times available are: 5:00-6:00pm, 6:00-7:00pm, or 7:00-8:00pm. Please send an email to to book your time slots.
Please note: Teams who require a steersperson for practices can book one for an additional $100/practice.

2019 Port Perry Dragon Boat Festival Charitable Program

The 2019 Port Perry Dragon Boat Festival will once again be providing a pledge program to all of our participating teams, to help raise money for the Port Perry Hospital Foundation and the Scugog Lake Stewards! With a goal of $35,000, your help would be greatly appreciated!

Top Team Fundraising Prize: Your Team Name on the Official Port Perry Festival Paddle (and the bragging rights that come with that)

Top Individual Fundraising Prizes include:

  • 1st Prize - $400 Cara Restaurants Gift Card
  • 2nd Prize - $250 Canadian Tire Gift Card
  • 3rd Prize - $100 Tim Hortons Gift Card

As well, all participants who raise a total of $200 or more will be entered into a draw for great local prizes. Check Port Perry Hospital Foundation closer to Festival day for a full list of draw prizes.


Shuttle buses begin running at 6:30am and race head quarters will open at 7:00am for teams to complete any outstanding registration documents. Captain’s meeting to take place at 8:30am at the Festival Pergola on the public wharf (northeast side of the Latchmen Centre). Opening ceremonies and marshalling for first race at 8:00am. Closing ceremonies will take place at 4:00pm.

Race schedule will be posted one week prior to race date. Teams are asked to arrive no later than 1 hour prior to their first scheduled race.

Race Format: All teams will race in two 200m heats, and one 200m final. Format for the “Seniors Cup” final will be announced at a later date.

Gold, Silver & Bronze medals will be awarded to the top 3 teams in all divisions.

Each team will receive 25 medals, however if you need additional medals, you may purchase them for $10 each.

Returning for 2019, Port Perry contests will include the Best Dressed Team as well as an award for the Tonsil Toss (Best Team Cheer)! We will also be presenting the Durham Dragon Award to the local Scugog Community Team who has the best overall time, and new for 2019 we will be presenting the Seniors Cup to the fastest team with paddlers who are 50+!

As of January 1st, 2019, Alkame Dragon Boat Services is the new owner and operator of Lively Dragon events. Our mission is to continue the legacy that Jackie & Ramsay have begun, by providing our teams, vendors and communities with down-to-earth, positive, and honest communication, teamwork, and most of all fun, both before and during our festivals. New for 2019:

  • A brand-new online registration platform for both teams and vendors.
  • Waivers and rosters will now be completed 100% online. Team Captains will receive instructions via email 1 month prior to the event.
  • Following the rules of Dragon Boat Canada, all athletes racing must be listed on team rosters, with a maximum of 30 per team. Roster checks will be completed in the final round of racing for each team and each team member must provide us with valid photo identification.
